A Bright Legacy:

Local Economic development for a Low-Carbon Future

July 12th, 7 PM

Burchfield Penney Art Center

Catherine Tumber, author of Small, Gritty, and Green: The Promises of America’s Smaller Industrial Cities in a Low Carbon World, will outline feasible means for these cities to be at the forefront of the new economy. Tumber asserts that rust belt cities can serve as models for sustainable urban living and are increasingly important geographic sites for ingenuity and innovation in the new economy. This is the first event in the Get the Rust Out: Shining Examples for a New Economy speaker series in which the Western New York community will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts on how to build a thriving regional economy, from the bottom up.

This event is free and open to the public.
