One of the planks on our 2011 Community Agenda is the creation of a Tonawanda Air Pilot Project.

Tonawanda has the highest concentration of air polluters in the state, including chemical companies, a coal power plant, a coke foundry, and petroleum distribution terminals. The town’s air pollution levels dramatically exceed state guidelines and many residents have chronic illness

In support of our partner, Clean Air Coalition, we hope your group will sign on to a letter to DEC Commissioner Joe Martens asking him to support an innovative air toxics reduction project in Tonawanda, NY.  The letter is here.  To sign on, please contact Erin Heaney, CAC at erin@cacwny.org with your Name, title, group name and city by Friday, January 21.
